1989 Jeep Cherokee pioneer, 2 door review from Italy
"The best 4x4 ever built"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Starter motor went at 90,000 miles.
Alternator went at 85,000 miles.
Replaced sagging leaf springs and shocks.
Replaced the radiator, header tank and thermostat because of a over heating problem which I still have, but only going up long steep mountain roads or flat out on the motorway! Maybe the water pump?
The headlight pull switch caught on fire!
General comments?
I brought the Toyota 4-runner and was going to sell the Jeep, but the Toyota although bigger inside it just can't compare to the Jeep, the Jeep could pull a house down. I just can't let my Jeep go. The power is fantastic and I've never got stuck off road. I drove the Jeep from England to Italy and it was fully loaded up with gear and pulling a trailer loaded six feet high and just cruised at 85mph all the way like it was pulling nothing. I love it.
By the way my Cherokee is the black one pictured on this site, can't believe it...cool.
