1971 Pontiac LeMans review from North America
"Power Machine!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Basic muscle car fixes. I did a complete engine overhaul. I had to replace the heads due to burnt out valves. New gaskets and seals. New exhaust system. I had to replace the cam because all the lobes had worn down.
General comments?
This car is FAST! Without a doubt it is the fastest car that I have ever owned. After all my modifications and the engine overhaul, the horsepower jumped from 320 to 400! The transmission never had a problem. It leaked just a little bit of oil every now and then. This car pasted everything, but the gas station. I beat a Ford Mustang GT 4.5 off the line without any problems. Even though it was an automatic, this car would fly! I still dream about this car. I now own a 1972 LeMans and I can't wait to put it on the road to burn rubber once again!
