1993 Fiat Uno 1.1 i.e.S review from Norway

"You might start talking to it"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Only one thing has has really gone wrong:

The fuel tank corroded at a welding and started to leak fuel.

Else it has been some natural wearing (enthusiastic driving) and therefore changed:

Rear shock absorber bushes.

Shock absorbers and coil springs.

Front wheel bearings.

General comments?

The car accelerates very fast up to 60 kph. Then it flattens out. This makes it the perfect city car and still having the opportunity to compete at a green light race and win - making the guy in his BMW cab getting a long nose.

Handling is good, and with stiffer shocks and coil springs it is really fun to drive on curvy roads.

The car is stripped for extras. Nothing. You have a cigarette lighter, heated rear window, and maybe a radio if the previous owner installed one.

It makes any sorts of noises, and if there is a new one, you shouldn't worry - it will disappear just as quick as it came. Install a radio.

Original parts are expensive, but aftermarkets are very cheap. My local dealer has been very helpful giving advices and tips instead of insisting the need for service.
