1992 Ford Taurus LX review from North America
"For price, get moneys worth,, ford is getting better with me"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I bought the car from the guy who owns the chinese resturant next to my work. He said all was good and just passed inspection. He was asking $1000 and I got it for $900. When I went to leave it died and wouldn't start. After 10 minutes it finally did. Ran well. Went for inspection and it failed for the left front tie rod. $175 to replace. But when replacing they told me right front tie rod and cv joint was bad. $250 to replace those. Over the next few weeks the dash lights would go on and off. Jiggle the switch and they would come back on. Got pulled over with no taillights. Replacing the headlight switch I saw the plug for wiring was melted- a short in the wiring cost me $170 to have rewired. all is good now except the check engine light is coming on a couple of times a day.. anyone know what the problem could be? ac works awesome, burns no oil and runs great. would buy another if REALLY needed a ride, but would prefer a cavalier. Looking for a samurai to have before I marry and have kids... if I don't flip it LOL.
General comments?
Nice comfy ride, something going wrong every few weeks.. ac cold and decent mileage... sits a lot of people.
