1955 Ford Customline review from North America
"A fun old car at a low price"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Very little has gone wrong with car.
In the time I have owned it, the tail lights stopped working due to old wiring, and the brake light switch needed to be replaced.
The valves need to be adjusted.
The speedometer and odometer have never worked when I have had it.
General comments?
The car is very comfortable due to its large seats, I have no problems sitting comfortably during long trips. There is tons of leg and head room, so even the largest people fit well.
The car is not fast, but it has power -- even with the six cylinder motor. The only time I ever have trouble is when I go up really steep roads, the car slows a little.
Its an easy car to drive by old car standards. The clutch is easy and visibility is good. The four wheel drums make stopping slow, but that's OK.
I love the car and its never left me stranded.
