1987 Acura Legend review from North America
"Quick for an old car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
First the transmission went out at approximately 255000 miles. Then due to a bad instalation by a repair shop I had to get another one for it.
After that, my rear drivers side upper control arm went out. The seal must have been cracked for some time. The front drivers side control arm is on its way. The seal is cracked on it also.
The drivers seat is a little cracked at one of the seams, but other than that the interior is perfect.
Rust has started to develop around the gas cap and a little bit around two of the wheel wells.
It does leak oil from a couple different spots, but not very much. One reason is because I had to tap a new hole in the oil pan for a piggy back plug because the previous plug would not thread back in.
I don't know if the oil pan is supposed to be aluminum like the block, but mine is steel, which could be one reason for the leaking.
General comments?
It runs great and has impressed me over the time I have owned it. It is pretty quick considering its year and the amount of miles on it.
For two hundred dollars (which is how much I originally purchased it for) it was a great deal.
