1993 Chevrolet Corsica review from North America
"It's a good car for a beginning driver, like I was"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
My air conditioner stopped working in the middle of the summer, and I had to replace that.
I have now, in the 5 years that I have owned this car, had to replace the alternator twice.
In the first few weeks of owning the car, I noticed smoke coming from the steering column. There were wires burning in there and we had to fix that.
We had to replace the spark plug and wires this last summer.
The car pulls to the right and the steering wheel was not placed on correctly, it faces to the left instead of being centered.
There was one more problem, but I cannot remember what it was called that we fixed! I do remember that it was quite an expensive fix!
General comments?
I know that I have had a lot of problems with this car, but it has been reliable to me. I've always been able to get home! I received this car when I turned 16 and drove it through high school and onto college! I make a 600 mile trip home and back to my college (that's 600 miles both ways) about 2 or 3 times a semester. I have horrible mileage in town, but when I get on the highway, the gas mileage is superb! It picks up very well too.
