1993 Ford Escort LX review from North America
"OK car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I never had any problems really until I reached about 105 k.. ever since I got the car it had a slight knocking/tapping sound, but it didn't hurt the performance. within 6 months reaching 105 k I replaced the timing, a master cylinder.. the car is not very comfortable and slow to accelarate.. but for about 1 year it got me where I was going.. the transmission started slipping off and on- at 1 week intervals for about 3 months before it finally went out at 105k..the air isn't very cold and really makes accelaration hard when its on. gets good gas mileage.. interior stayed good with no cracking.. exterior had clearcoat coming off at 80k..seat belts got stuck frequently and dim lights went out at 90k --electrical problem I presume.. overall fine car for going to short places...as a spare.
