1999 Chrysler Concorde LXi review from North America

"Luxury for Less"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The interior lights flash frequently, so does the dashboard lights when you turn the lights on.

The weatherstripping on driver's and left passenger's side have come off.

The weather stripping around the front headlights have come off.

The trunk light occasionally works.

The car sometime "shakes" when it is turned on.

It is sometimes hard to get the car out of a gear especially park.

I'm nervous that steering problems with develop with this car. I've been hearing a lot of problems with other Chrysler LH platform models such as the 300M, Intrepid, and LHS. More of the problems and crashes have occurred with the Intrepid, but they are built with the same parts.

General comments?

The car drives beautifully.

The styling is unique to the Concorde and sets itself apart from other cars out there, even the Intrepid and 300M.

The outside looks very sumptuous, but the leather seats, fake wood trim, and plastic interior components make the car seem cheap.

Lots of interior room and especially the rear seats are very comfortable. The front seats could use a little more lumbar support.

The 3.2 Liter V6 has good power and torque, although a larger engine like a V8 would probably better suit this car.

The Chrysler Dealership needs better service quality and better customer service.

So far I've only experienced minor problems with this car, but I am considering of getting rid of it. I've heard that over 55,000 incidents have been reported with steering failure in Chrysler vehicles, not counting the other numerous problems.
