1990 Nissan 300ZX 2seater coupe review from North America
"A cheap price for a supercar"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The differential mounts needed to replaced ($200)
Side bolsters on the drivers seat are worn (usually happens on all Z's)
General comments?
The 300zx is a very very nice car. I loved this car ever since I was 5. this car is 14 years old and turns heads everywhere. this is the main reason I bought a 300zx. I bought it when I was able to obtain it at about $4000.
The handling is great since the car is so low. the Z is a very responsive car and a total joy to drive. especially when the ttops are off. the gearbox is really close together for easy shifting. however I don t like the clutch. its really tight so its kinda hard to let out the clutch to shift into 1st. I don't know if other Zs have this problem. my 300zx is fast even though it isn't turbocharged.
The interior of the car is very well designed. its definatly driver oriented. all the controls are on panels left and right of and surroudn the gauge cluster. I love the seats. I have a back problem and these help out a lot and plus you can move the seats in several directions to get a perfect position.
I don't know much about the car's maintainence cost cause I only owned the Z for about a month. I know that the Z is a very reliable car cause it last 200,000 miles in my case. but you gotta pamper it with good car, which mean $$$. the gas mileage isn't great either. the car gets 10-12 mpg and only takes premium. this is the price you pay, but its definatly worth it.
