1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon review from North America
"The car that kept the Rocket Division afloat in the '80's"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Steering wheel bolt loosened up, xhaust manifold gasket went south at 145K. Bent wheel crashing into curb in a snowstorm.
General comments?
This was the best car I have ever owned. Bought it from a friend for $1,100 back in '96. Did regular maintenence on the car and it ran like an Olympic marathoner. Car was two tone grey, with grey interior, bucket seats, console, padded "sport" steering wheel, power everything, even the trunk. The 305 motor always started, ran smooth and strong and never left me stranded. The car always got complements for how confortable it rode on the highway. I blew the manifold gasket in '99, and continued to drive it until my radio was no longer able to drown out the exhaust sound. Car sat parked, and was eventually stolen. Police called of the search 3 months later.
