General comments?

This car was sold to me a reliable and ready to drive. As you can see from the list above it was not and I spent another $500 or so on the items and had the mechanical knowledge to fix the car. The XF was manufactured as a Ute until 1994 and is relatively easy to work on with little or basic knowledge. However because most XF's were sedans (finished production in 1988) a lot of parts books have incorrect listings for the parts for the later models, so it is best to shop with the part you need in your hand.

The engine is sluggish and is by no means a "street machine" however is very good on the highways and kicks down easily for overtaking. It has a great torque and can pull/ tow just about anything and doesn't mind a load on the back. The wide body holds it to the road and give great grip (which Ute's are not re-known for.

Mine is on duel fuel and gets about 450 to 500 Kms from 80lts of LPG, which I was impressed with considering the size and shape of the car, which is quite "boxy".

The interior is basic with cloth trim bucket seats and 3 speed floor auto, but comfortable for trips as it is roomy.

Generally a great car I will keep for a long time.
