1996 Ford Scorpio ultima review from UK and Ireland
"The best car I have ever owned"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Instrument cluster replaced (by dealer) due to needles on dials sweeping across dial and reseting computers. Turned out to be a faulty battery. Dealer (after some persuasion) reprogrammed clocks to show correct mileage.
Cabin heater fan switches off and on for no apparent reason.
No other faults to report this car still has its original exhaust.
General comments?
I have owned this car for four and a half years and apart from regular servicing (by proper mechanics not dealers) brake disc's and pads (and a battery or two) maintenance / repair costs have been minimal.
This is the first car that I have owned where there has been no compromise on specification, comfort and performance.
Some people dislike the shape of the car, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and she still brings a grin to my face every time I turn the key.
