2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport review from North America
"A lot of problems an not reliable"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I got my jeep at at 43,000 miles and drove it to california from buffalo, ny at around 58,000 miles. When I got to utah the a/c went. this inclueded a new belt and new a/c clutch along with a new compressor. All and all this was a 800$ expense.
After I got it fixed on my road trip all was fine until I got home and then the begining of next summer I drove to the adirondacks and the a/c went again and this could have been costly so I traded it in.
The jeep also has general defects that I have found to go with with a couple of friends that own this vehicle for 00 and 99. these things include replacing speaker wires 2 times because of water getting in there and ruining it. this was an un necessary 50$ per year.
Anouther common defect was that the 4wd lights do not come on do not know why even though you know it is in 4wd. This also happended with my friend and the dealership told him it will be a few hundered dollars to fix just for the light to come on. not worth it.
Also when I had the jeep at about 50,000 miles the rear seal went and leaked oil. this was like 100 - 150$ to replace and from what I have heard anouther common jeep cherokee sport problem.
General comments?
I liked this vehicle I do not know why because of all of the unnecessary expencses related to it.
