1998 Peugeot 406 Coupe review from UK and Ireland
"Good cheap (in Britain anyhow) coupe"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Thermo Fans switch on and off at strange times (like when starting from cold in the morning!)
Speedo works intermittently
Seat Adjusters on drivers seat snapped off
Electric entry handle to rear seats on Passenger side doesn't work
Electrostatic rear view mirror has frosted over.
Rain sensing wipers don't sense.
General comments?
Overall, despite the little niggles, I like this car. I suspect its had a hard life before me, but its still doing the business no problem. Its comfortable, swift and well equipped. The fuel consumption is a little heavy, the PAG V6 being reliable, but certainly not efficient. Around town my girlfriends Alfa 145 is much nicer drive, but on the highways the Pug shines. If you get one, make sure its been looked after.
