1995 Buick Riviera sc review from North America
"Very classy, a looker and a performance giver"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Well nothing has gone wrong..yet anyways. But I have owned several vehicles and I know eventually something has has got to give. In reading the other posts I hope that many of the problems have been addressed with my Riviera in the past considering I'm at over 100,000 miles now. I have been nagging the previous owner for maintenance records and the original wheels. Right now its sitting on 20's, but I want the original wheels for winter. As of right now I am going to go look up my Vin numbers and vehicle history. I have had no problems whatsoever as of yet and am very happy with it. Every thing works great no leaks etc. Everything seems to be in proper working order. I'm taking it in three days from now for a once over and to have it hooked up to the diagnostics computer as a precaution. If I can I will further update my findings to give a more informative analysis of this car.
General comments?
I have had much luck with the 3.8 liter engine in the past. This thing is a bear, especially with that extra boost you get with the super charger. You just have to remember to take care of any changes in performance or sound immediately as a precaution with any car. Since I had gotten the car I have had no problems at all. It handles very well in turns for a larger auto, and it has all the bells and whistles you could ask for. I only use top quality fuel and will continue to do regular maintenance as a general rule to catch any problems I may encounter. Overall I am very satisfied with the Riviera and its performance along with the comfortable seating and cabin space. My previous vehicle was a 1978 nova ss hardtop, and I found it very strange that the battery is under the rear seat. None the less it is a very very large battery which should last you a very long time. This car has a very large trunk space in my opinion, which in my case I use for a multitude of things. For one I don't like using the default included jack so I found a perfect way to strap in my rhino two and a quarter ton in there and strap down my standard tools. Eveen then I still had alot of trunk space, enough to fit an amp and a box of 12 inch speakers, and I still have trunk space, its great. Hopfully very soon I will be able to come in here and give a great update on my Riviera plus' and minus' considering I haven't had it that long. But I must say I am very pleased thus far with the 1995 Buick Riviera. I recommend that if you are considering buying a Riviera at least scope out the previous owner. If it's an old lady you may want to consider picking it up, if its some young punk that most likely beat it to a pulp steer clear.
