1965 Land Rover Series 2 IIa 1/2 tonne Utility review from Australia and New Zealand
"Great off road, but take the bus around town"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Coil lead burnt out.
Rear shock absorbers replaced.
Exhaust system replaced.
General comments?
The vehicle is extremely capable off road.
The ride quality is appalling.
The vehicle is not really suited as a day to day drive, as its excessive turning circle, crash gearbox and high (military spec) suspension make city driving and car parks a chore.
I have not yet found a load too heavy to pull or a trailer too big to tow.
The vehicle is too slow for highway use.
The 4 cylinder petrol engine is unbreakable.
The vehicle is equipped with a true roller cam and cam followers.
