2000 Dodge Ram Pickup 1500 Sport review from North America
"Great truck... if you can afford to get rid of it before it hits 30,000 miles"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Air Conditioning system began to leak at 30,000 miles.
Right rear speaker shorted out at 42,000 miles. Right front speaker began working intermittently at 43,000 miles.
Upper dash pad began to crack at 44,000 miles. At the current 52,000 miles. it looks like a spider web.
Water pump blew at 46,000 miles.
Transmission cooler lines leak.
Front crankshaft seal leaks.
Within the past 3 days:
ABS and brake lights came on
Speedometer quit working
Check engine light came on.
General comments?
I have been a professional mechanic since 1982. I keep my vehicles well maintained. This one, I cannot keep up with.
A huge disappointment. It's a beautiful truck to look at. Rides and handles like a dream. Too bad I can't trust it.
My '88 Bronco was in better mechanical condition at 100,000 miles. than this truck was at 45,000.
I WILL be trading this truck next week when the most current problems are corrected. Back to Fords for me, never to stray again!
