1994 Pontiac Grand Prix GT review from North America

"A safe reliable car that has guts when needed"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I had to replace the M.A.P. sensor ($120) Oxygen sensors ($25), and the E.G.R. valve ($150) at 110,000mi. the car ran very crappy I was getting about 11.6mi/G also the M.A.P. sensor was a very hard piece to track down seems that my car wasn't in any of Pontiac's registries and no regular parts store had any knowledge that there was a GT package.

The sun roof switch broke about 115,000mi I put a fabricated one in, but to top it off the Motor ($20junkyard) lost power and had to be replace about 6 months later 120,000mi.

The drivers side rear window motor ($35) was replaced about 120,000mi along with the key-less entry ($100)

The out side thermometer was replaced about 121,000mi.

The end drive rod ($495) blew out at 120,000mi.

CV joint ($40) was replaced about 120,000mi.

Air compressor was replaced about 120,000mi also I don't know the pricing I received one friend sorry.

Climate control knob broke about 115,000mi.

Finally the ABS has never worked right when the ABS light would turn off my breaks would not work so I just pulled the fuse for the ABS.

General comments?

Over all it's an excellent car the 3.4L is an perfect size for the car and usually amazes people with the pick up thou I wish the transmission was geared differently 1st Thru 3rd is awesome, but overdrive lacks the power I expected it to have around 92mph the car dramatically looses performance.

The car handles excellent at high speeds I have swerved around cars perfectly where any other car I have driven would have fish tailed.

The heads up display is incredible.

The seats are beyond comfortable.

The car is very spacious and lets room for many custom upgrades while the car seems small from the outside, with the ground effects people for some reason seem to want to see the power and race it.

Repairs were expected, but the car runs great with all of the required maintenance.

The factory sound system surprised me greatly, the highs and lows make listening to music enjoyable at any volume.

I also hit a 110 pound dear at 59mph I needed some body work done like the hood bumper and light bar, hitting a dear at that speed would have totaled most cars but there was no frame or internal (radiator window etc.) damage after that I believe this car to be a very safe vehicle.
