2002 Dodge Neon SXT review from North America
"Budget Autobahn burner"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The brake rotors wore out at 42,000 miles.
General comments?
My old Volkswagen Jetta was finally shot after 325,000 miles, so I was looking for a reliable replacement to take overseas on a military mandated move to Europe.
I bought this car because Daimler-Chrysler honors the warranty in Germany, where none of the other US manufactures do. I also got a great deal and a free 100,000 mile warranty.
This car has been absolutely trouble free for the last two years. The handling and 124 mile per hour top speed were more than adequate on the Autobahns. I did burn through two sets of tires, and the brake rotors are now worn out, but that is to be expected when you average 100 mph on your daily commute to work.
While this car is NOT a Volkswagen, it does only cost half as much, so if it lasts half as long I'll be very happy.
