2000 Mitsubishi Colt 1.3 Resolution review from UK and Ireland
"Not perfect, but very reliable and nice to drive"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
No mechanical or electrical problems whatsoever.
This is a minor niggle, but when the car was purchased there were two wheeltrims missing. The dealer promised that they would order the other two straight away and that they would be fitted free of charge. We had to wait three months fro new wheel-trims. On phoning them we were told it was because the car was a special edition and that the wheel-trims had to be sourced from Japan as there were none in this country.
General comments?
Dealer service could be better. Besides the episode mentioned above, twice when the Colt was taken in for a service we found tough-to-shift oily marks on the seats when it returned, so obviously they didn't insure the seats were protected with covers.
The Colt 1.3 engine is extremely reliable, but is rather noisy and unrefined, as well as being a bit sluggish.
The Colt has great handling, steering and gearbox, but has a very hard uncomfortable ride.
The seats aren't very comfortable and we find the Colt to be very cramped and claustrophobic inside, though the interior is well built. Same goes for outside: Very good build quality throughout, although the paint chips very easily.
