1990 Buick Century review from North America
"Good first car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
At 50,000 miles the alternator went. I went to a local mechanic. It took 2 rebuilt ones. Finally he put in a AC Delco brand and now it works fine.
At 100,000 miles major electrical problems occurred. Took it to the dealer. They were unable to figure it out.
At 110,000 the water pump started to leak. Poured some additive in. That helped a lot.
The car is hard to work on. In order to change the plugs I had to buy a special tool.
Power windows and power locks don't work.
General comments?
The car is mid-performance.
Acceptable free way entrance times.
The air is "Ice Cold".
Seats are comfortable, but the backs are wearing out.
