2002 Ford Escape XLT 4x4 review from North America
"Well Done. Really!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Two weeks after purchase, the passenger's side airbag cover had warped in the Florida heat and came loose.
General comments?
Overall, the Escape is a well-designed, well executed SUV bargain. It manages to be sporty, rugged, and a well mannered SUV.
I purchased my Escape in Tampa, Florida, and two weeks later (against the advice of the owner's manual) filled it with all my worldly posessions and towed my Eagle back to my home state of Pennyslvania. Along that 1,500 mile journey, I encountered only minimal butt itch. Partially due to my lab puppy wetting on my seat at a fill-up stop. Seating positions were comfortable and supportive, and reach to the controls excellent save for the stereo. I switch tracks so often that my hand rested in the dashboard cubby just below the radio, and cramped as a result. The driving experince was pleasureable. I'm still in love with it, to this day. Yay for Yellow!!
