1993 Geo Metro Base review from North America
"If you can swallow your pride, this is an awesome, economical, utilitarian vehicle"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Had to replace the alternator belt twice.
Burns some oil, now leaks some too.
Radio seems possessed, goes on and off on its own.
Broke a front cast aluminum motor mount, but was able to fashion one from steel, works great.
General comments?
Awesome performance in all types of weather and driving conditions! Wish it had a posi-traction, but did well with proper tires for three years as delivery vehicle in snow conditions, as long as the snow did not get too deep!
Front seats fit my 230lbs 5'10" frame OK, back seat is cramped. Can cram myself and four larger brothers in on occasion.
Useful vehicle, fold down back seat allows me to haul motors, transmissions, axles, lumber, lawn-mowers, etc, great utility vehicle!
Nice tight handling, fun to drive in traffic, zippy.
Very cheap to run, I have gotten my initial investment back out of the car many times over.
She still makes a 120 mile round trip commute every day, running well, and I do not get passed much!
