1995 Volvo 440 Si (CVT) review from UK and Ireland
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Central locking packed up at the same time as the original battery failing (9 years is good for a battery) When I took the car in for repair I had to have all five solenoids replaced! Mechanic said I was just unlucky. Pretty costly at around £350.
One of the rear indicator lenses has started letting in water. I gather it needs resealing.
The CVT gearbox can stall the engine if you stamp on the brakes hard - the unit is not known for its reliability. The previous owner had work done on it by Volvo about 20k ago, but it's still not right.
