1987 Ford Taurus review from North America
"No other car can compare"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When I first bought the car it had a recall on the suspension but that was a freebie so I was given a break on the price I paid. It also needed new tires, and an oil change, and was missing a few parts, but those things didn't effect the performance.
Later on, however, I did spring a leak in the power steering. And it seemed to have some trouble later with putt-putting down the road. But it was a little problem that didn't cost much to repair.
General comments?
Overall, the Ford Taurus GL Sedan was a fabulous car, especially for the money that I paid, which was less than a $1,000. It ran on up until the afternoon I wrecked it and if the battery had not been disconnected, chances are it would still be running. Not only was it the best car I've ever had, but I miss it and compare every car out there to it. As far as I'm concerned, nothing out there compares to the roominess, comfort, dependability and handling of 87 Ford Tarus. Or any model Tarus prior and proceeding. It costs less than what it's worth but then again, that worked out in my favor.
