1991 Nissan Pathfinder SE review from North America
"A versatile, practical SUV that needs a bit more ummph"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing has gone wrong with the vehicle so far.
Added A Transmission Cooler and remote Transmission Filter to aid the transmission when shifting. These cars are notorious for automatic transmission problems, you need to reduce the amount of heat for them to live long.
Added nerf bars for style and utility.
Added a K&N air filter for a bit more HP and a reusable filter.
General comments?
This SUV has performed reasonably well. The 3.0 Liter V6 is sluggish and underpowered in terms of acceleration, but once you get cruising the power is adequate.
I like the style and the utility that the vehicle offers. Perfect for hauling 6 people to a baseball game or for carrying building materials from Home Depot.
The cabin is very bright (thanks to the sun roof) and the controls are pretty well laid out.
All in all, the vehicle is very versatile.
I just wish that it were a little faster and that the transmission shifted a bit more smoothly.
