1990 Pontiac Grand Prix LE review from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car?
A couple of months after purchasing the car, everything went bad:
The fuel pump.
About 5 sensors.
And the computer.
It took forever to find out, because once the computer found a bad sensor, it would stop the diagnosis. It cost over $600 to fix.
Fast forward to the summer of 2004 and a few minor repairs later...
The shift cable snapped, dealer only part costing nearly $200.
Five days later, the car quit firing. Someone told us it was the crank sensor. Who knows!
This is just a repeat of when we first got the car. It was running fine for over a year and then just quit again, just turns over and over without starting. We are now going to play the sensor game again.
General comments?
Very expensive car for up keep.
Seemingly reliable engine.
Nice looking car.
Although expensive for repairs, I guess it is cheaper than a car payment!
