2000 Mazda MX5 review from UK and Ireland
"If you havnt got one, Get one"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing yet.
General comments?
This is a beautiful car, once you get in it. The doors seen long making it a tight squeeze in car parks. However, this is not as big a problem if you have the roof off (which you should have).
I have nothing bad to say about the handling, performance or realiability of this car as it is the best I have ever owned. Going from the Ford Puma I expected great things, and got them with interest. On a dry road you just can't lose it, it loves bends and demands to be driven.
I was so blinded by the cars beauty in the showroom I missed the fact that it was without central locking or electric door mirrors, but, hey, I don't miss them.
This car does however come with unforseen expences, £80 speeding ticket and £180 to repair the paint on the drivers door where I was keyed. £400 ICE, gotta be heared as well as seen.
When looking for a car I wanted the Toyota MR2 until I compared the performance, price and luggage space (the MX5 has some). I now know I made the right choice.
