1992 Ford Thunderbird review from North America
"An affordable combination of sport and luxury"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
My windshield leaks during heavy rain on passenger side.
Overheated and stalled on a hot August day. (my fault, I used the air conditioning while driving in traffic)
Needed new battery cables in 2003.
I live in Minnesota, and the car was parked outside last winter. It only refused to start twice, temperatures were well below zero.
Transmission is starting to show problems. Only minor (for now) and once and awhile.
Headlights are really yellow, and I hope to replace them soon.
Driver side seat belt motor is burned out.
I replaced the alternator in 2003.
General comments?
This car has treated me very well. I take 400 mile trips every couple months from college to home.
I have to fill up the coolant reservoir occasionally. Uses little oil.
It starts without hesitation, and idles smooth.
During the winter, I keep a few sand bags in the trunk, and I can get through a lot of snow and slush.
