1995 Ford Contour SE review from North America
"An electrical mishap waiting to happen"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Under the hood wiring harness insulation has cracked to the point of showing bare wires. This has caused the electrical system to completely malfunction and now the car won't even run at all. There was a recall issued and an extended warranty to fix the "known problem" But neither I nor the owner before me were ever notified of such a recall. And now that the vehicle is over 100k, the dealership refuses to fix under the recall. Estimated cost of repairs from dealer? In excess of $1900.00. This car isn't even 10 years old. I looked under the hood of my 71 Chevy rust-bucket and the wiring is as good as new. Driver Returns On Foot.
General comments?
This car has the most comfortable seats in it of any car I have ever owned.
When the car was running it ran like a champ.
