General comments?
I love this car. My friend had an 83 Monte Carlo CL that I went to pick up with him when he bought it. At the time I had a 78 Capprice and loved the full frame v8 rear wheel drive format and after driving his Monte Carlo I knew I needed something like it. I ended up getting my 88SS when I graduated college for $1,700 and I have never regretted what I payed for it. My best advice is if you don't mind the age of the car and that older cars tend to need some maintnence treat yourself to an SS or any Monte Carlo for that matter. Everything that has gone wrong with this car was due to age and owner abuse. And being an SS it was abused by the previous owner. I have yet to find anything deffective with this car that was due to workmanship. Chevrolet needs to make more cars like this. There is no feeling like having the t-tops out on a summer day and hearing that v8 roar. It is without a question the best handling and looking cars I have ever driven. I'm restoring the SS and I'm considering purchasing an LS just to drive to work. This car is truly what the words sports car defines.
