1989 Mazda 626 review from North America
"A rock solid car!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
One rear brake line corroded and leaked
went through a few mufflers (value brand with lifetime warranty - boy did we get our moneys worth!)
Rust: due to us buying as a cheaply rebuilt write off in 1989.
General comments?
This car has been VERY reliable! Its seen it's days, been pushed beyond its limits, driven over a few curbed medians in reverse at over 30km/h... through fields, plowed through 4 foot high snow embankments at 70km/h (the impact caused a small leak in the ATF cooler, easily repaired) and still started, even in -40celcius. The only time it hasn't started is when the battery dies out. It still moves, esp. on the highway (been to 190km/h on quite a few occasions) This has honestly been the best, trouble-free car we have ever owned.
