1998 Chevrolet Malibu LS review from North America
"Decent Lil family car, few issues though"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I know that the car has some miles one it, but about a week after buying it the theft system light came on and would blink and couldn't start the car until about 10 minutes of leaving it in the ON position... now the light just stays on, along with the check engine light... shows up as map sensor low input price on it...104.00
the guy I bought the car from sent out his shade tree mechanics and when they disconnected the battery the gas needle went behind the peg and can't seem to get it back in the right spot.
Then at 175000 miles the alternator went out that was another 160.00.
And now it's in the shop... not the mechanic's shop.. the body shop.. someone backed into it... not cheap parts there either, good thing I'm not paying for it.
So other than that it's been a pretty good car... although I'd like to talk to the lady that sold it to the dealership and see why she really got rid of it.
General comments?
All in all not a bad car it has a few problems, but not as bad as some I've heard about.
