1998 Nissan Altima GXE review from North America
"Damn good car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Everything seemed to be OK when I bought the car, but 12000km later, I've discovered a crack in my exhaust manifold. Since I love tuning, it was not a big deal because I've changed it for a hotshot 4-2-1 headers with the down pipe.
A couple months ago, I've went to my 5000km oil change and I've discovered that the universal joint seal was leaking oil from the transmission. So I repaired it. On the next oil change, 5000km later, the seal was leaking again. We discovered then that the differential bearing was destroying itself in my transmission. Many people told me that it was common to that model/year. I'm searching for an Altima SE 2001 manual transmission to put it in.
General comments?
Except for my 2 minor problems, I really love my car. It's performing very well, very reliable, cheap on gas and comfortable.
