1998 Volkswagen Jetta GLS review from North America
"This car makes me want to die, slowly"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Window broke and fell into the door pannel at aprox 40,000 miles. Three times.
The glue that holds the trim on the door melts and the trim falls off durring the summer.
Engine light automaticly comes on at 60,000 miles to get your into the dealer. Wait a while and it turns its self off.
Clutch had to be replaced at 55,000 miles.
Alternator went out at at 65,000 miles. causing the battery to die.
When I jumped the car to juice up the battery it blew the computer.
VW set up the cars to give false reading on rental fault scanners so I replaced the MAF and throtle body on its readings when the dealer scanner said it was the computer.
Many many other minor problems.
General comments?
The cars look good on the outside, but work very poorly on the inside.
VW dealers are the most evil demons of all the hells.
