1995 Dodge Avenger review from North America
"Small problems, Lots of Fun"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
1.head gasket leaking.
2.power windows shorting out.
3. rear window defrost takes too long.
4. takeoff is "nervous.
5. not comfortable after 1.5~2 hours of driving.
General comments?
Let me first start off by saying if you buy this car or its counterpart (Chrysler Sebring) and you go over railroad rossings on a day to day basis, you will definitely feel it. I haven't spent any big amount of money for repairs so far, however I have and most likely will spend small amounts. I've spent 270 for gaskets, wires spark plugs and caps. fixed a problem from the engine "misfiring", don't remember the pocket damage, needed a wheel alignment.
And I know most people that already own an avenger will agree that the headlights on this car bug the h*ll out of them. its like it has a lot of mildew setting in, I've noticed this on every dodge avenger that I go by on the freeway. Its funny though I haven't seen it much on Sebrings, don't know why.
And now for the good news:
Gas mileage is good about 27/28 miles a gallon on the freeway.
Good takeoff speed.
About 25/28 dollars fill-up at 2.26/gallon.
A lot of legroom.
Reliable.
Not expensive for repairs.
Sporty at a cheap price.
Drives Fast, Looks Furious.
The perfect sports car.
