1999 Dodge Ram Pickup SLT review from North America
"Comfortable, but not to trustworthy"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I bought the truck with 33000 miles couldn't afford the extended warranty at about 37000 miles I took it to the dealer for a check up and was told my rear end was about to go. the dealer was kind enough to pay for parts, but I had to pay the labor- $400.00.
Next was the brakes after a panic stop the left front caliper had completely locked up another $350.00.
Then the water pump at about 70000 miles.
I also had to have the catalytic converter replaced due to it cloging up!
Next was a complete brake job from the whole system locking up.
Now I have a transmission that doesn't shift right and a left front caliper that when I turn left locks up or when coming to a stop light and trying to go is locked up!
General comments?
I have enjoyed the truck except for the constant problems I have had, also the gas millage is extremely poor. 230 miles to a tank about 11 miles per gallon.
