1959 Chevrolet Apache Base review from North America
"46 years young - still strong!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Radio doesn't work correctly.
For a 46-year old truck, it is pretty healthy - other than its routine maintenance.
General comments?
This is a 1/2 ton truck with a regular cab, and it is very nice. It has a full size bed that is not a step side.
Not the quickest of trucks, but surely seems to have some hauling muscle from its potent V6.
Comes with a 4-speed manual with the granny gear that is easy to shift.
Cabin is very noisy and vibrates at idle, but isn't anything surprising. In fact, it is just the way I like it.
Starts right up, even on the coldest of days.
I think the most unique feature of the truck is the "superman logo" speedometer.
It has almost no rust, and still has its original paint - a light blue.
