1998 Dodge Durango SLT review from North America
"As expected"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Minor problems. Lot's of fit and finish issues with the interior. Wind noise has increased as door seals have deteriorated. Increasing squeaks and rattles. The R&D side of many components seems minimal and the quality of most materials seems poor. Mechanically, the vehicle has been great.
General comments?
After driving the vehicle since purchasing it along with my wife's Toyota, I see where the extra money spent on R&D goes. Sure, the Dodge wins hands down in interior comfort and power, but when you compare the overall condition of the two vehicles at almost identical mileages and ages you see the real picture. The dodge has suffered from loss of ride quality and has aged at an incredible rate when the two vehicles are compared. I would buy another, however, I am also willing to admit that most American cars need constant attention to be in perfect running condition.
