1994 Chevrolet Blazer S10 review from North America
"Hell on wheels?"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Since I purchased the vehicle, the rear wiper has never worked, nor can I get it to work.
There was a recall on the front wiper motor. The wipers will stick right in the middle of the windshield in pouring rain. Chevrolet replaced this part the first time, however, it continues to stick.
Front driver side locks won't work unless you manually lock and unlock it.
Wiper fluid hoses are cracked.
Door handles on outside of all doors are coming loose.
Alternator has been replaced.
There was apparently no catalytic converter on it when I bought it so I had to have one put on, and had the whole exhaust reworked at the same time. Although it didn't seem to help much because the fumes that come up into the car are nauseating. The teachers in the drop off line at my child's school cover their faces when they see me coming.
The EGR valve has been replaced so many times I've lost count. It's easy to tell when it needs to be replaced: you bring the vehicle to a complete stop and it continues to surge forward; or when you apply the brakes, there are none!
One of my brake lines was leaking brake fluid. When I came to a complete stop, I couldn't get it going again for a few minutes.
Air conditioning has suddenly quit blowing cold air.
Just had to replace the spider valve in the fuel injection system.
I have now had my transmission rebuilt twice. I have been without my Blazer for almost a month now. They still aren't able to figure out what the problem with it is. It won't go into first gear.
General comments?
Good looking vehicle.
Other people with Blazers stop me all the time and ask me to sell them my chrome Nerf bars.
It had a lot of get up and go. Unfortunately, I think it got up and went.
My husband always complains about the big hump in the floor in the front passenger side. It's hard to stretch your legs out.
I would love this vehicle if it wasn't plagued with problems.
