1991 Ford Explorer 2WD Eddie Bauer,Auto review from North America
"Unbeatable value!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Let me start off by saying this vehicles has over 250,000 miles, so the repairs are really not that bad.
Starter, Alternator, Shocks, A/C Comp, all around 150K, Had it repainted, and always kept up the maintaince, synthetic oil changed every 15K, and still has orginal engine. Truck is starting to fall apart though, the engine is knocking badly, and the transmission is starting to shift roughly, I think the truck is about to be retired soon. Both engine and trans are orginal, so I have no complaints about them failing at 250K. I think I will buy another Explorer, as this one has proven to be a great truck. If you can find one with low miles and well maintained, you can't go wrong.
General comments?
Truck has always been real reliable, seats are great, and real comfortable. A/C works well, trans shifts very smooth, runs quiet, extremley versatile, all around great truck.
