2004 Ford Fusion 3 review from UK and Ireland
"Have gone on about the noise a lot, but it really is a seriously noisy car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Engine regularly dies on tick over.
Grinding noise with vibration on foot pedals when braking more heavily than normal.
Very very noisy engine - even sitting in the car you hear every clunk and click that engine makes, its embarrasing to drive through town or built up traffic because of the noisy engine. The test drive car was quiet and smooth to drive, which is why I chose the above car. Ford had stopped lining the engine compartment 6 months earlier which the sales person convieniantly forgot to tell me, the test drive car was lined I later found out.
General comments?
Many of Ford's new diesel engines are very loud and rattley, so having the engine compartment lined is very important, otherwise you are in for a big surprise like I was.
The saleperson delibritely misled me when he gave me a quiet car to test drive. I'm dreading the summer when I drive with the windows open, will probably have to wear ear plugs.
