1994 Mazda Millenia review from North America
"Nice ride, but expensive to maintain"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Sensors, sensors and more sensors. This car has numerous sensors and relays that can cause problems. I had a problem which caused the car to stop at random. On one occasion it stalled in the middle of a busy intersection and almost killed my family. Over a 10 month period I spent over 1500 dollars at several shops including the dealer to trace the problem and no luck. Finally I saw a reference in a chat room to the same problem. It suggested unplugging a particular sensor. I did it and the car has not stalled since that time. (Thank God for the internet). I have replaced all of the wheel bearings and CV joints. Apparently they are a common problem on these cars as well.
General comments?
It is a great looking car and very comfortable, but not as reliable as a Toyota, Honda or Nissan. Be prepared to spend a lot of money for maintenance.
