1991 Oldsmobile Ciera SL review from North America
"Amazing reliabilty!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Brake pads needed replacing only a few times.
Both alternator and starter replaced twice in 8 years.
Head gasket blew at 148,000 miles. (head gasket was leaking for some time.)
But after the repair the engine ran like new!
One of the fuel injectors needed replacement.
This winter there was solid ice in bottom of the radiator. Amazingly this did no harm.
The power windows no longer work and one of the door handles have broken off.
General comments?
My husband bought this car in 1997 for $4500.This is the best car we've had. I took my driver's test and got my license in this car 5 years ago.
I am amazed at the relibility and low maintainance cost of this car.
We change the oil every 3,000 miles and we never have to add any oil between oil changes.
Parts are inexpensive, too.
It still has lots of power;the blown head gasket did not affect it at all after the repairs were made. It has cast iron heads.
