1993 Peugeot 106 1.4 XRD review from UK and Ireland
"Cheap relaible and comfortable town transport"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Clutch operating lever snapped
2 clutch cables
2 offside lower wishbone balljoints
most of exhaust replaced
2 rear wheel cylinders
front disks and pads.
General comments?
Very economical: we average 55mpg +
Comfortable.
Body has lasted very well for 12 year old car.
I do all my own maintenance: even replacing cambelts is not difficult.
Driven as a town car: very reliable over 12 years and easy to park.
Inexpensive to run. Lots of cheap spares on ebay.
Very slow, but perfectly adequate in town: struggles a bit on long motorway inclines: not that it goes on motorways very often:-)
Having had it for 12 years looks good for at least another 5... (we hope!)
