2004 Saturn VUE review from North America
"If you value affordable performance and want it in an SUV, look no further"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
There was a recall on the rear axle. The rear tires supposedly have a tendency to bend inward when making sharp turns at high speeds. The dealer fixed the problem on the first shot. My only complaint is that the recall notice made the situation sound really dangerous... and then said the parts were not yet available! They would contact me when they came in and the repairs would take about 2 hours.
Four months and a lot of sweat later, I finally got the call to bring my VUE in... and wound up spending over four hours pacing back and forth in the showroom while they fixed it.
General comments?
The V6 performs incredibly! If you are like me, and hate it when people ahead of you drive as slow as frozen molasses, but then accelerate like maniacs when you try to pass them, you will be very happy. I haven't had to fall back once yet. Most recently, a crazy woman in a Lexus spitefully trapped me behind her as she drove 2 miles an hour because she got angry when I tooted my horn to alert her that she was sitting at a green light (doing her make-up). When the opposite side of traffic cleared, I blew her doors off! I made her $40,000 car look stupid.
