2003 Mitsubishi Montero LTD review from North America
"We love the car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The alignment was off at delivery and had to take it to dealer twice for adjustment. It's fine now.
There was a recall on a valve in the fuel tank. Dealer repaired no problems.
General comments?
The truck rides very nicely on the highway and has plenty of comfort and power for long rides/city driving.
It is amazing in the snow. 4x4 and the traction control work flawlessly.
The only negative is the poor gas mileage, but we knew that going into the purchase.
Dealer has outstanding customer service and our sales rep was very professional - Schaumburg Mitsubishi in Illinois.
I do all maintenance on my cars, since I can't stand paying someone else to do it, and having it potentially wrong. One think I don't like is that there are no service manuals available for the car. Mitsubishi was really smart in forcing consumers to the dealer or shops for service.
Overall, it's an awesome vehicle.
