1998 Hyundai Accent Alaska Coupe review from UK and Ireland
"Love my wee car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I have had the car 2 years in that time I required a new clutch at 76000 (was still original)
new brake pads at78000 (original again)
most recently needed a new crankshaft sensor and drop link anti roll pins at 87k, in addition a new exhaust which was hard to track down,
despite this the car is exceptional for its age none of the repairs I would suggest are unusual and the original parts had a good life.
All interior good.
In the previous comments seen comments about shaking at 80mph that is your tracking get it fixed and it will be absolutly smooth.
General comments?
This car is quite punchy for a 1.3. Have had it do 105mph on a level road - good for a 1.3, fuel consumption can be inconsistent, but normally 30-45 mpg.
Acceleration is absolutely great at lower speeds and handles OK most of the time except in rain, car could probably benefit from better tyres given the relatively good acceleration.
