1998 GMC Sonoma SLS review from North America
"Not worth the money I paid for it."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Warranty Work:
Squeaky springs dealer replaced rubber and nylon bushings.
Transmission shifting funny and overheated two times. dealer replaced transmission, Dealer damaged the truck in their own parking lot after replacing the transmission and took a week to complete the body work, they did furnish a loaner truck during this time.
CD player went out and dealer replaced it.
Battery cracked and shot acid all over engine compartment, dealer replaced battery, but not the rusty mess left behind by the battery acid.
Customer Paid Repairs:
Replaced driver seat adjusting lever 3 times.
Replaced passenger seat adjusting lever 2 times.
Replaced 3rd door latch & lever 2 times.
Replaced driver electric window motor 2 times.
Replaced windshield wiper relay 2 times.
Replaced air conditioning condenser and fan motor.
Replaced center console lid.
Currently need water pump replacement.
General comments?
This truck has plenty of power and agility for it's size.
The engine and running gear are dependable and sound.
The latches, motors, adjusting levers, controls are cheaply made, unreliable and expensive to replace time after time.
